Overview (Nimalung Festival)

Nimalung Tshechu Festival is performed in Bumthang at Nimalung Lhakhang. The tshechu is held once in a year in the 5th month of the Bhutanese calendar. It is a religious and cultural festival like many other tshechus in Bhutan. This festival is a vibrant display of traditional masked performance, rituals, religious dances and common celebration which dispatches the teaching of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Moreover, it holds immense significance for local and offers a unique opportunity for visitors to witness or experience Bhutanese Culture.
